Pickley pickled spicy dill pickles!

Chris has been talking about canning our own pickles for a long time now. When I was at Lone Pine on Saturday they had the 10 pound bags of pickling cucs so I picked some up along with a bunch of fresh dill. Home I came and today was the day. This is BY FAR the home-iest home-maker thing I've done to date. It was really quite fun and pretty easy, just time intensive. Here's my journey through the pickle process.














At first I thought two of the jars hadn't sealed, but now looking at them after they've sat a few hours makes me more confident that I was 100% successful! Now for the 2 week waiting period for them to absorb all the garlic-pepper-chile-dill goodness!
