February 2011

Now that the month has passed, I realize that I haven't posted anything since January. Here are a few things that happened during the month of love.

  • My cake business has really taken off! I made 4 cakes just in the last 2 weeks of February. Here are  2 of them:

  • We had SNOW! And it actually stuck to the ground! Last Wednesday night we got about 2-3 inches and Chris got to have a snow day. Loganne loved it, but I think Piper enjoyed it most! Then after it melted, it snowed more on Thursday night, which gave Chris another snow day home with us and got to have a four day weekend! Here's the snow pics, there are quite a few :)

That's really the most eventful things that happened. If I think of more, I will post it! March here we come!

January 2011!

Well, 2011 is here and already in full swing! Chris started his first coaching endeavor: Head Coach for the Scio Logger boys 7th grade basketball! He is liking it more than he thought, and isn't nearly as stressed because he has 2 assistant coaches each with 10+ years experience.

I am still home with Loganne, but am searching for a part-time nights/weekends job. I am toying with the idea of going to pastry school at Oregon Culinary but haven't made a final decision yet. I stopped nursing Loganne about 2 weeks ago now(TMI, I know) and it has made me a little sad, but grateful that I am able to help Loganne fall asleep in other ways. I think she is handling it alright. It was great for about a week, then she started realizing what the new routine meant and cries every time we start it! A great way to jump into...

....Loganne! (who I know is the reason you're all reading this, hehe). She is doing great and gets more wonderful with every passing day! She is SO funny and loves to make us laugh at her. She has started to laugh a little more herself which is great but still no belly laughs, the little poop. She loves her daddy and gets excited when he comes home from work, but is still mostly a mommies girl. Here are a few bullets on what she's up to at 14 months old!

  • Is really into the destruction part of things. Instead of putting blocks together, she enjoys ripping them apart. Also, emptying her toy baskets by throwing the toys over her shoulder seems to hold her focus until it's emptied, but...
  • ...she is pretty good about helping to put things away too. Also, she throws her own diapers in the trash, usually without me saying anything. She just picks it up and goes to the trash can!
  • She RUNS EVERYWHERE!!!
  • Her puppy Piper is her best friend. They get into all kinds of trouble, and boy how I'm dreading the next few years. It's only gonna get worse I think. lol
  • She says "egg","Elmo", "apple", "Mama" (which I love!!!) "Dada", "door", "bubble" and others. These are just more recent ones.
  • She can tell you what the following animals say or do: chicken, cow, elephant, camel, lizard, gorilla, crab, bear, snake and bird with prompting, and fish.
  • She can get onto the couch by herself, and loves this because she can look out the window. If the blinds are up, she will pull on them until I open them!
  • Her favorite thing is bubbles in the tub from her bubble maker! She constantly says 'bubba' to me if we are in the bathroom during the day.
I think that's most of it, I'm sure there's more that I can't think of right now. Here's some pics! There's a bunch, so keep scrolling!

My little kitchen helper. She is always crabby while I was cook, so I have to
think of things to keep her occupied!

Making daddy pretty!

So this was the highlight of one ours night recently. Chris' cousin is staying with us while he's on leave and he's been buying the big sammies at Safeway. Chris left the fridge open, and he looked over into the living room a few minutes later and we find her eating what's left of Dane's sammie and standing watching tv. It was too funny because the stinkin' sammie is SO big! Haha!

Happy January! I'll try to keep posting at least once a month!

Our 1 year old!

Loganne turned 1 on November 28th! It's crazy to think she has been here for a year, it seems as though she has always been around. She is THE BEST part of our lives and we can't wait to watch her learn and grow more and more over the next year! Here's an update.

  • She is 21 pounds and 30.5 inches
  • She started walking on her own at 10 1/2 months and loves it!
  • Words she says: 'All done', 'hi and bye', 'nana' (for banana), 'dog' or 'doggie', 'ball', 'bug', 'duck', 'book', 'mama'
  • She gives great kisses and hugs, will give you a 'bite' with imaginary or real food, knows the sign for 'eat' if you say it to her
  • She opens and closes her mouth for 'fishie' and blows air out like an elephant,  also clicks her tongue
  • Her most favorite thing is mardi gras beads which she has at both grandma's houses
  • She loves her new puppy Piper, but only when she is in the mood. Otherwise Piper is a nuisance that she frequently bats away. Haha!
  • Favorite foods are still mostly fruit, with spaghetti, mac 'n cheese or other pastas coming in close second
  • As you can see, she has about as much hair now as when she was born, but it is getting thicker and a little longer, YAY!
I think that's most of what's going on. Sorry I never post videos, but for some reason everything I've tried has failed. I'll keep attempting though, and maybe someday! Here's a few pics of our cutie pie!

Birthday Caaaaaaaaaaake!

First Turkey Day!

And here is our newest addition, Piper! She is a toy Australian Shepherd and is quite the handful! I feel like I have TWO 1 year olds instead of one! This too shall pass...

First Halloween as a family!

Chris, Loganne and I met up with family and friends at Valley River for their trick or treating. Terri and I pulled into the parking lot and she was asleep. I got her out of her seat and she was STILL asleep, which never happens. Then we dressed her in her skunk costume and she was still out like a light! It was PACKED with people! That part wasn't so great, but Loganne had fun when she was finally woke up!
For the first half of the trip around the mall she was asleep and Chris carried her around with us while I collected her (I mean OUR) candy. :) We began referring to her as 'roadkill' because she was so sound asleep! Well, here's a look!
